Room Decorator is a casual 3D puzzle game with sandbox elements where the player can take on client requests to create specific rooms. The player will be able to select furniture, paint the room and furniture, and place the furniture into the room as they see fit. The player will need to work with the client to figure out what the requirements for the room are, and they will be able to communicate with the client over text as they work on the room. In the end, their room will be graded based on how well the room they constructed fit the client’s requirements.

This game was created by Matthew Merritt, Michael Merritt, Hannah Moss, and Yadel Negash for GDD211. Our Trello board can be found here, and it contains details about the game design and any credits to referenced materials.

Features:

  • Select furniture from the catalog, paint the items, and place them into the room
  • Drag furniture across the room with the mouse, and rotate or remove the item with the controls in the bottom left
  • Receive text messages from the client in the top left, and open your phone to check previous messages or send questions to the client
  • Paint the walls and floor, and spin the room around or zoom in or out to get different angles
  • Submit the room to the client for grading, and receive feedback on how to make the room more suited to the client's needs

Controls:

  • Mouse for dragging furniture, selecting options, and rotating items
  • A and D to rotate the room for a better angle
  • W and S to zoom in and out
